When Do You Need to Reorder PDF Pages?
Reordering pages is useful after scanning a multipage document that came out in the wrong sequence, when combining sections from different sources, or when preparing a presentation where slide order needs to change. Instead of re-exporting from the original application, reorder directly in your browser in seconds.

How Page Order Is Stored
Page order in a PDF is not implied by where content sits in the file. It is defined by the /Kids array in the page tree — an ordered list of references to page objects. Reordering rewrites that array. The page objects themselves, and every font, image and content stream they point to, stay exactly as they were.
This makes reordering lossless and fast, and it means the file size stays essentially constant no matter how thoroughly you shuffle. Moving page 90 to the front does not move 90 pages' worth of data; it moves one reference in a list.
What does not automatically follow the pages is anything that recorded a page position as a number. Bookmarks and cross-page links store a reference to a page object, so they generally continue to point at the correct page even after it moves. Printed page numbers, however, are ordinary text drawn into the page content — they move with their page and will no longer match the new sequence. If your document has visible page numbers, reorder first and then re-apply numbering.
